As spring quickly approaches, feeders are a great activity to make with your little ones and watch all the birds return!
Supplies:
Egg carton
Paint
Paint brush
Yarn or other string
Scissors
Bird seed
Step one:
Cut your egg carton to the size you would like (we chose to make it 2x2).
Step two:
Paint your egg carton and let it dry.
Step three:
Cut two pieces of yarn the same length (I didn't measure this part).
Poke holes in each corner of the egg carton, I used a pen.
Step four:
Tie the yarn corner to corner diagonally. Line up the middle so it hangs at the same level.
Step five:
Add bird seed.
Step six:
Hang outside and wait for the birds to arrive!
Note:
Be aware of where you hang it, we added our feeders to the ends of branches. All the rainwater (and sap?) continued to drip into it, breaking down the egg carton.
